About Aidan Montague


Aidan_Montague_Online_Sales_ManagerAidan Montague has more than 25 year’s cutting edge experience driving sales and marketing operations, along with a strong technology and Internet background.

He has held a number of senior roles with Internet/Communications giant, Cisco Systems both locally and overseas. In his role as Director of Strategic Alliances for Cisco, Aidan negotiated alliance agreements with many of the major Telcos throughout China, Korea, Singapore, Australia and elsewhere.

More recently his focus has been in the areas of Internet Marketing, New Media Applications and in particular, assisting businesses market their products and services over the Internet.

Aidan is a Chartered Professional Engineer with a career in information technology, communications and online marketing. He graduated from the West Australian Institute of Technology (now Curtin University) in 1974.

He worked as a professional engineer for approx 10 years in companies such as Minenco (CRA Group -Mining Engineering Consultants) and Electric Power Transmission (EPT). As a direct result of his work using computers for engineering analysis he was offered a position with UK based, International Computers Ltd (ICL).

He worked in the Minicomputer and Communications field until 1991 when he co-founded Cisco Systems Australia. Five years later he was relocated to Cisco UK as Manager, Internet Business Unit. He worked for Cisco for over ten years and during that time he led sales teams in Melbourne, London, Johannesburg and Singapore.

During that time he held a number of Senior Executive positions with Cisco including:

Southern Region Manager – Based out of Melbourne
Manager, Internet Business Unit – London
General Manager, Sub Saharan Africa – Johannesburg
Director, Strategic Alliances, Asia Pacific – Singapore

Aidan has significant experience in both traditional direct marketing and online marketing. He established Australia’s first online direct marketing company in the sporting niche: Australian Golf Direct. He also founded golf.com.au which focuses on the sale of golf improvement products and online coaching. He also owned and operated Australia’s first independent golf tour- the Australian Players Tour (APT) which ran 14 professional golf tournaments during the mid to late nineties.

He has served in leading roles with a number of successful companies and has been Chairman of eBooks Corporation, a leading supplier of eBooks.

Over the bast 5 years he has focused primarily on New Media applications and in particular Internet Marketing via Google and other Search Engines.

He has extensive experience in assisting businesses utilize some of the newer Social Media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc.

He continues to assist a number of high profile organizations in establishing a dominant presence on the Internet.
